The attorneys at the law firm of Meyers Kenrick Giuffre & Evans in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania have extensive experience in helping individuals with medical malpractice injuries and complications resulting from surgical error, pediatric malpractice, wrongful death, prescription error, birth injury complications, medical misdiagnosis, delayed cancer diagnosis, emergency room negligence, delays in medical treatment, and any injury that was suffered at the hand of a doctor, surgeon, hospital, or medical provider.
One of the most important parts of our law firm’s operation is the initial client contact and screening of all potential medical malpractice or medical injury cases.
It is common that most people when faced with investigating a catastrophic medical malpractice or wrongful death claim end up talking to secretaries or paralegals that really do not possess the medical knowledge or insights; hence they typically do not know what questions to ask.
At the law offices of Meyers Kenrick, Giuffre and Evans, it is our medical staff that leads the way in determining where the possible medical negligence occurred.
Each potential wrongful death client speaks to one of our nurses, all of whom have had critical care experience, are well-educated; all are still working as nurses in addition to working here part-time so as to maintain their acuity with reference to current standards of practice.
The firm’s attorneys, in-house medical staff, paralegals and support personnel understand the seriousness of each and every wrongful death claim we review. Our attorneys take every case seriously and on an individual basis, carefully considering the unique circumstances surrounding each potential case.
At Meyers Kenrick, Giuffre and Evans, we believe one of our firm’s most valuable resources is our extensive medical library, perhaps the largest single collection owned by any individual law firm, medical malpractice or otherwise.
We maintain our medical library because it is an essential for our attorneys, medical staff and legal support staff to establish that the medical standard of practice, current to the time the care was provided, has been identified.
Our library is as well equipped a medical library as one might find in any medical center or hospital, containing over 1,000 medical treatises and texts that are typically only ordered and read by doctors, not lawyers. In addition, we also subscribe to many physician and medical provider internet databases; all used to dramatically help in our research efforts.
Our firm and its attorneys are constantly learning, both from textual materials and from the many medical experts we consult in those cases in which we decide a further investigation is justified.
